I co-founded Design Business Council to help designers build confidence in their business decision-making skills. Confidence makes it easier to manage more effectively; more efficiently and more sustainably. My skills are based on experience (30+ years founding and managing my own design business), industry research, and insights gleaned from talking to, and working, with a wide variety of designers. During my career my special power has always been an ability to use design to translate difficult to understand or complex messages. I believe design brings clarity to complex issues. From clarity comes understanding, and understanding leads to knowledge. I use the same skills to help designers de-mystify the complexities of managing a small business.
